HTS PilotHTS Pilot finds HS/HTS tariff codes from product descriptions and shows the reasons and the official sources behind each proposed code. The application needs JavaScript to run.Every lookup runs the same five stages:

Read the description: materials and percentages, construction, target user and processing state.

Narrow the schedule: chapters, headings and subheadings are scored, and a pool of candidate lines is built.

Apply the legal rules: the General Rules of Interpretation and the section and chapter notes exclude or penalise codes.

Compare and choose: heading, 6-digit subheading, then national line, with the deciding factors.

Check, then propose or route: a code is proposed, or the lookup is marked Needs more info or Needs expert review.

Supported markets: the United States (HTSUS, 10 digits) and the European Union (CN 8 digits and TARIC 10 digits).Guides to HS codes, the US HTS and EU TARIC: the HTS Pilot blog.A product of HCT Systems.
